What is a Podcast, how do I subscribe to one, and what can I do with it?
A Podcast is a way for you "subscribe" to have the most recent show available whenever you want. Currently, only Down Gilead Lane is available through Podcast. The Podcast schedule will follow the radio schedule, so the latest show will be the show that is played on the Podcast. It will continue to be available until the next show comes up. Then it will "update" to the next show.
First of all, you need software, such as Apple's iTunes®. To learn more about iTunes® and Podcasting, click here. Next, click on a Podcast button, in the Down Gilead Lane section of the website. This will automatically subscribe you to that specific Podcast. There will be a few steps, and then it will be availabe to you in your iTunes® Library.
Once you are subscribed to a Podcast, it will be available to you in iTunes® as long as you leave it there. The next time you open up iTunes, the Podcast will automatically update to the latest show (if you are connected to the Internet).
You can also play the Podcast on your iPod® (or other compatible portable media player). Simply hook your iPod up to your computer, making sure you have iTunes® running and an Internet connection, and the Podcast will update onto your iPod® automatically. It will then be available to listen to on the go. The next time a new show is available, re-connect your iPod®, and it will update once again!
